AI SUMMARY [revised on review, verified against the sources in this file. Live DB still holds the shorter bulk-import summary — apply this to it.]
**Victims:** An unnamed businessman from São Paulo, lured to Goiânia, Brazil. He survived.

**Attackers:** A four-man scheme — mastermind Josemar Alencar Linhares de Oliveira (who posed as an advisor to the president of the Goiás Legislative Assembly), the driver Gabriel Pires de Lima (alias "Danilo", who pretended to be a fellow victim), a gunman hidden in the car's trunk, and a third armed man who joined mid-journey.

**Attack Method:** Planning began in February; Josemar arranged a business meeting and even offered to cover the victim's stay. The victim arrived on 24 June; soon after leaving the hotel, a man sprang from the trunk into the back seat and subdued him at gunpoint, and a third armed man joined. They rifled his suitcase and accessed his bank accounts and digital wallets on his phone.

**Violence Used:** He was punched in the head, held with a gun to his head and ribs, and threatened with death; ultimately he was thrown from the moving car at about 30 km/h, fracturing three ribs and suffering internal bleeding before a passing truck driver rescued him.

**Crypto Demanded/Stolen:** The gang aimed for 2–4 million reais in cryptocurrency but the victim could not access his wallet on the spot; they obtained only R$6,813.28 via Pix.

**Status:** After about 90 minutes a police chase on the GO-020 highway ended with two suspects (Gabriel Pires de Lima and Tiago Oliveira Rocha) killed and one escaping unidentified. Josemar fled to the USA on 30 June and was arrested on arrival; he was convicted as the intellectual author and sentenced to 12 years and 9 months.

A flash kidnapping targeting a million-dollar sum in cryptocurrencies ended in a police chase in Goiânia. Two of the four suspects were killed in combat at the scene, but one managed to escape without being identified.
The fourth piece of the scheme, considered the mastermind of the crime, was arrested as soon as he arrived in the USA, thwarting his escape plans.
The planning of the crime began as early as February of this year.
On that date, the victim was approached by Josemar Alencar Linhares de Oliveira, who introduced himself as an advisor to the then-president of the Legislative Assembly of Goiás (Alego).
Later, in June, the suspect arranged a business meeting with the victim in Goiânia. Documents seen by Livecoins show that Josemar's insistence was so great that he even offered to cover the victim's stay in the area.
The scam took place at the end of June
Testimonies indicate that the victim, a São Paulo businessman, arrived in Goiânia on June 24, greeted by Josemar.
Furthermore, he also met another supposed advisor, introduced as “Danilo”—whose real name was Gabriel Pires de Lima—responsible for his transportation.
However, the victim began to suspect the behavior of these individuals. Besides Josemar's stalling to meet him, Gabriel seemed to be avoiding security cameras.
In addition, Gabriel also asked if the victim could leave his suitcases in the back seat instead of using the trunk of the car, appearing apprehensive. There was a reason for not using the trunk. Soon after leaving the hotel, an individual jumped out of the trunk into the back seat and subdued the victim, pointing a gun at his head.
Described as aggressive, the suspect said phrases like: “stay quiet”; “if you try to jump, I'll kill you”; “if you try to escape, I'll kill you”; “you're going to take a bullet in the head”; and “we don't want anything, just the money”; Midway through the journey, a third member of the group entered the vehicle, also armed. Gabriel, driving the vehicle, pretended to also be a victim, but he wasn't. The victim was in the front seat next to the driver, while the other two armed bandits occupied the back seats. The victim points out that they were aggressive, punching his head, among other physical blows and psychological violence. While one kept the gun pointed at his head and another at his ribs.
Kidnappers wanted millions in cryptocurrencies, but only got R$ 6,800
The target of the criminals was the victim's cryptocurrencies. Still in the vehicle, they rummaged through his suitcase and accessed his bank accounts and digital wallets found on his cell phone. Another part of the testimony suggests that the victim allegedly owed R$ 500,000 for a commission on a cryptocurrency transaction with a third party. Therefore, it could be a debt collection by Josemar. The group planned to steal an amount between 2 to 4 million reais in cryptocurrencies. However, their plans were thwarted as the victim did not have access to his cryptocurrency wallet at the location. In total, they managed to get only R$ 6,813.28 via Pix.
It was at this moment that Gabriel began to act more like an accomplice than a victim, implying that he was also part of the group by collaborating with the other two suspects.
Criminals fled and engaged in a confrontation with the police, resulting in the death of two of the three suspects in the vehicle
The kidnappers and the victim took the GO-020 highway, heading towards Bela Vista, driving a Fiat Punto with a tampered license plate. After an hour and a half of kidnapping, they passed by a police station. Gabriel spotted a patrol car, and after passing through a toll, began to drive at high speed.
The victim, now forced to sit in the back seat, continued to be assaulted while the kidnappers demanded that he keep trying to transfer his assets to them.
“At one point, they tried to enter a dirt road, and nearly flipped the vehicle,” the process notes.

Further ahead, with the car traveling at around 30 km/h, the victim was thrown out of the vehicle, fracturing three ribs and suffering internal bleeding. He was rescued by a truck driver passing by the area. In a confrontation with the police pursuing the vehicle, Gabriel Pires de Lima and another suspect identified as Tiago Oliveira Rocha were killed.
The third suspect in the action was not identified by the process.
Mastermind of the crime fled abroad, but was arrested as soon as he landed in the USA
Although Josemar Alencar Linhares de Oliveira was not in the vehicle, the victim claims to have seen his photo on Gabriel's cell phone, who was messaging with him. After the incident, Josemar was not found in the places he usually frequented and did not maintain contact with family or friends.

The investigation also indicates that he changed his phone and boarded a flight to the USA, without notifying anyone, on June 30, a Monday, immediately after the incident, without even calling the victim despite knowing about it. Other highlighted points are that the trip was not planned, as the tickets were purchased the day before. Additionally, Josemar had not scheduled any time off from work.

In his defense, Josemar claims that he “had no involvement in the crime” and only acted as an intermediary between “Danilo” and the victim. Regardless, the court convicted Josemar as the intellectual author of the extortion crime last Wednesday (24). Although the initial sentence was 8 years, Josemar was sentenced to 12 years and 9 months in prison in a closed regime due to the involvement of four agents and the use of two firearms in the criminal action.

A vítima, no entanto, começou a desconfiar do comportamento dessas pessoas.

Apontado como agressivo, o suspeito dizia frases como: “fica quieto”; “se tentar pular eu te mato”; “se tentar fugir eu te mato”; “você vai tomar um tiro na cabeça”; e “a gente não quer nada, só o dinheiro”;

No total, eles conseguiram somente R$ 6.813,28 via Pix.
