The stablecoin kingpin's blood spills in Paraguay: The full story of Harry Yeh's fatal fall from a 30-story building - Odaily

According to police reports, the fatal fall occurred at around 2 a.m. last Tuesday local time, from the 30th floor of a high-rise building.

Core Insight: In Asunción, Paraguay, Chinese crypto investor Harry Yeh was reported to have died after falling from his 30th-floor apartment. The projects he founded and invested in, such as Tomb Finance and LIF3, experienced dramatic rises and falls. The incident has drawn attention to the safety and mental health of high-net-worth individuals in the crypto space.

In August 2026, police preliminary estimates suggest he fell from the 30th floor of the Jade Park apartment building in Asunción in the early hours of last Tuesday. His body was found fully naked and covered with a black plastic bag, and his apartment was in severe disarray. Prosecutors are investigating the case from multiple angles, including accident, suicide, and homicide.

Harry Yeh had over 25 years of experience in technology and business. He entered the crypto market in 2013 when Bitcoin was around $60, launching his first fund with approximately $250,000. He later founded Quantum Fintech Group, focusing on crypto and blockchain investments.

In 2021, he took over Tomb Finance, an algorithmic stablecoin project on Fantom. Through leverage and public relations efforts, he pushed its TVL to an all-time high of $1.6 billion in January 2022. However, the token has now nearly gone to zero, and the project's X account has been inactive since February 2025.

Starting in 2022, he promoted the LIF3 omnichain DeFi ecosystem and L3 Reserve (the issuer of the L3USD stablecoin). His social media conspicuously touted related tokens, while his Instagram frequently showcased a luxurious lifestyle featuring private jets and mega-yachts. Community opinions of him were sharply divided.

The crypto industry has seen multiple unnatural deaths recently: In 2025, the founder of Thodex died in prison, a Ukrainian crypto figure was shot dead in a car, and in early 2026, a man in Hong Kong died from a fall due to investment losses. Official conclusions and community speculation often coexist.

On August 7, 2026, Paraguayan local media La Tribuna reported that a Chinese man was found dead outside Jade Park, a luxury apartment building in the Trinidad district of Asunción. His preliminary identity was confirmed as Harry Chun Tak Yeh (Ye Junde, social media handle @harryyeh), founder and managing partner of Quantum Fintech Group.

According to local police reports, it is preliminarily estimated that his fall occurred in the early hours of last Tuesday local time, from the 30th floor of the building, which is one of the tallest structures in the neighborhood. His body was found completely naked and covered with a black plastic bag. Investigators subsequently inspected the 30th-floor apartment linked to him, discovering the door wide open and the interior in severe disarray. Another apartment on the 27th floor of the same building, also associated with him, was processed for evidence by the criminal technical department. Harry Yeh's 29-year-old Brazilian girlfriend, who resides on a lower floor, told authorities she had no knowledge of the incident.

The Paraguayan police homicide division and criminal technical department have collected physical evidence and forwarded it to the prosecutor's office. The prosecution is currently investigating multiple possibilities in parallel, including accident, suspected suicide, and homicide. The body has been sent to the judicial morgue for an autopsy. As of now, no official final conclusion has been reached.

His official website, harryyeh.com, states that Harry Yeh is the managing director of Quantum Fintech Group, a firm focused on investment management in cryptocurrency, blockchain, and digital assets, pursuing excess returns for clients and partners. The website explicitly states that during his tenure operating the company, he founded and became a seed investor in LIF3 and L3 Reserve. LIF3 is an omnichain DeFi ecosystem, while L3 Reserve is the issuer of L3USD, which is positioned as a variably collateralized stable asset.

The website shows that Harry Yeh has over 25 years of experience in technology and business, having served as CTO and co-founder of several startups, with years of experience trading stocks, options, and forex. Public records indicate he was born in Hong Kong and moved to Canada in his childhood.

In 2013, when Bitcoin was priced at around $60, he entered the market and launched his first fund with approximately $250,000. In the early days, he conducted OTC trading, market making, and related fund management through Binary Fintech Group.

2021 was a pivotal year. In September of that year, Tomb Finance (an algorithmic stablecoin-style project deployed on Fantom, involving tokens such as TOMB, TSHARE, and TBOND), in order to prevent whale withdrawals, had established a sell tax (Gatekeeper Tax), which was subsequently exploited through social engineering, triggering a liquidation panic. Harry Yeh announced that he and his team would take over, and on September 11 published a detailed plan. Subsequently, using leverage and aggressive PR, by January 2022 he briefly pushed Tomb Finance's TVL to an all-time high of $1.6 billion. However, the project's tokens have since collapsed to near zero, with its last X post dating back to February 2025.

During the same period, he was an important early supporter and promoter of the Fantom ecosystem, repeatedly expressing optimism about FTM publicly and sharing his views at relevant conferences.

Starting in 2022, he began championing LIF3. The project was positioned as an improvement and extension of Tomb, emphasizing accessibility and security, offering features such as trading, yield farming, liquidity provision, and derivatives. His X social media account has long featured token tags including LIF3, TOMB, FTM, TSHARE, and L3USD.

His public image was relatively high-profile. Although he did not flaunt an extravagant lifestyle on X, on Instagram he frequently showcased top-tier luxury living, including private jets and luxury yachts. The crypto community holds divided opinions about him: in the early days, some viewed him as an OG who helped the ecosystem expand rapidly, while later, numerous voices questioned the sustainability of his projects and team transparency.

The crypto industry has not seen its first unnatural death of a high-net-worth participant.

In 2025, Faruk Fatih Özer, founder of the collapsed Turkish exchange Thodex, died in prison. His lawyers stated he had recently isolated himself and refused to see family, with preliminary judicial findings leaning toward suicide. That same year, Ukraine-linked crypto figure Konstantin Galish (Kostya Kudo) was found shot dead in his own car in Kyiv. Police noted suicidal tendencies and a farewell message, and the incident occurred shortly after a major market downturn. In early 2026, a man in Hong Kong fell from his residence after losing approximately $1.2 million in crypto investments, with police ruling it a high-altitude fall.

In these cases, official conclusions and community speculation often coexist. The Harry Yeh incident is still in the early stages of investigation. The scene details (naked body, plastic bag, disheveled apartment) have indeed raised doubts externally about a simple accident or simple suicide, but until autopsy results and more evidence are released, any characterization would be premature.

On-chain wealth can be accumulated quickly, but off-chain security, privacy, and mental health require greater attention from every crypto player.

Fantom backer Harry Yeh dies after 30th floor Paraguay fall

Harry Chun Tak Yeh, founder of Quantum Fintech Group and a longtime figure in the Fantom ecosystem, died after a reported fall from the Jade Park residential tower in Asunción, Paraguay, with authorities still investigating how it happened.

Paraguayan authorities are investigating Harry Yeh’s death after a fall from Jade Park’s 30th floor.

Police found the 30th floor apartment linked to Yeh open and disturbed during their investigation.

Authorities have not determined whether the fall was accidental, suicide related, or involved another person.

Yeh founded Quantum Fintech Group and became closely associated with Fantom ecosystem project Tomb Finance.

Yeh’s website claimed his funds and partners managed over $2 billion, without independent verification publicly.

Police were called to the building at about 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 7 and preliminarily identified the victim as Yeh.

The investigation remains open. Paraguayan police and prosecutors have not publicly classified the death as an accident, suicide or an act involving another person. The latest local reporting reviewed on Aug. 10 said forensic work and an autopsy were being used to establish the cause and circumstances.

Harry Yeh death probe centers on two apartments

Prosecutor María del Carmen Palazón joined Criminalistics and Homicide officers in examining an apartment on the 30th floor where Harry Yeh was believed to have stayed. Investigators found its doors open and the interior heavily disturbed, with nobody inside, according to a local report.

Police also examined another apartment on the 27th floor. Homicide chief Abel Cantero said evidence collected from both properties was transferred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office. Local reports said Yeh’s body was found without clothing, but authorities have not publicly explained whether that detail has any relevance to the cause of death.

Police have not established how the fall occurred

Asunción police director Francisco Ávalos said investigators were still at an early stage and could not determine how Yeh fell. Authorities were considering multiple possibilities rather than treating any single explanation as established. Prosecutors also sought authorization to search the apartment more thoroughly as they attempted to reconstruct Yeh’s movements before his death.

No official finding cited in the latest Paraguayan reporting has accused another person of involvement. Likewise, reports describing the apartment as disturbed do not by themselves establish robbery, assault or a crypto related crime. The body was transferred to Paraguay’s Judicial Morgue for an autopsy and forensic examination.

Yeh became closely tied to Fantom through Tomb Finance

Harry Yeh founded and managed Quantum Fintech Group, an investment business focused on cryptocurrency, blockchain and digital assets. His own profile says he also founded and seeded LIF3 and L3 Reserve and had been active across crypto investment and trading.

His connection to Fantom was particularly visible through Tomb Finance. A 2021 Fantom Foundation post said Tomb operated under Yeh’s oversight after he assumed direction of the project. His website separately describes an investment ecosystem focused primarily on Fantom based projects.

That ecosystem later changed substantially as Fantom evolved into Sonic. As previously reported inthe Fantom to Sonic transition, the FTM to S migration began in early 2025 at a 1:1 ratio. More recently,Sonic’s leadership restructuring saw several longtime figures step away from its board in June 2026.

$2 billion investment figure remains self reported

Harry Yeh’s biography says funds and assets managed by him, Quantum Fintech Group and partners “exceeded $2B USD.” An older profile reported that Yeh and his team said their network managed more than $2.4 billion. Neither source provides independently audited documentation supporting those figures, so they should be treated as claims rather than verified assets under management.

The next confirmed development is expected to come from Paraguay’s forensic and prosecutorial process. As of Aug. 10, the latest authoritative local reporting still described the autopsy and evidence review as pending and did not establish what caused Yeh to fall. Any claim that the death resulted from murder, suicide, robbery or a crypto related attack therefore remains unconfirmed.

Crypto Investor Harry Yeh Found Naked After 30-Floor Fall in Paraguay, Apartment Completely Ransacked | IBTimes UK

Harry Yeh, a high-profile cryptocurrency investor who claimed to oversee more than $2 billion in digital-asset investments, has been found dead after a 30-floor fall from a luxury residential tower in Asunción, Paraguay, with police probing a ransacked apartment linked to him.

Police received a 911 call at about 4.30am on Friday, according to Paraguayan media. Yeh's body was found at the base of the Jade Park complex, about 100 metres below, naked and covered with a black plastic bag.

Authorities have not determined how he fell. Investigators have not ruled out an accident, suicide or the involvement of another person.

Prosecutor María del Carmen Palazón went to the 30th-floor apartment with officers from Paraguay's Criminalistics and Homicide units, according to local reports. Investigators found the doors open and the apartment in disarray, but no one was inside.

Police collected evidence from the apartment and the area where Yeh's body was found. His remains were taken to the Judicial Morgue for an autopsy and forensic examination.

Police chief Abel Cantero told La Tribuna that investigators were examining two apartments linked to Yeh, on the 27th and 30th floors. Evidence from both locations was sent to the Public Prosecutor's Office.

Investigators also went to the 27th floor, where Yeh's 29-year-old Brazilian partner, Isadora de Proenca Braganholo Carvalho, lived. She told authorities that she did not know what had happened, according to local media.

Police have not publicly accused Carvalho of wrongdoing. Authorities have also not disclosed whether investigators found evidence of a struggle, forced entry or another person inside either apartment.

The inquiry is focused on establishing Yeh's movements and what happened inside the building before the fall.

Yeh, whose full name was Harry Chun Tak Yeh, was an early cryptocurrency investor who entered Bitcoin in 2013, according to his biography. He has said Bitcoin was trading at about $60 when he began investing.

He later founded Quantum Fintech Group and started his first fund with $250,000, according to the same biography. The firm described itself as an investment manager and trading operation focused on digital assets and blockchain projects.

Quantum and Yeh's own website have claimed more than $2 billion in assets and investments under management, with Quantum citing a figure above $2.4 billion. Those figures were self-reported and have not been independently verified.

Yeh was closely associated with projects in the Fantom and decentralised-finance ecosystem. His biography identifies him as a founder and seed investor in LIF3 and L3 Reserve, while his investment history also included Tomb Finance and other blockchain projects.

A 2024 due-diligence report on LIF3 identified Yeh as its principal investor and managing director of Quantum Fintech Group. His public biography also lists an engineering background and earlier work in technology and finance.

Those ties made Yeh a recognised figure among investors and founders in parts of the cryptocurrency industry.

The autopsy is expected to provide investigators with further information about Yeh's death. Local reports have not established whether injuries found on his body were consistent only with the fall or indicated anything that occurred beforehand.

The discovery of his body and the condition of the 30th-floor apartment have led authorities to examine the circumstances rather than immediately classify the death. No official finding has linked another person to the fatal fall.

For now, investigators have established that Yeh fell from the Jade Park building and died at the scene. They have not publicly established why he fell or what occurred inside the building before his death. The case remains under investigation by Paraguayan authorities.
