A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at the Defence C Police Station against five suspects, including Muhammad Raza Dar, identified as the grandson of a high-profile political bigwig, for the alleged kidnapping, extortion, and sexual assault of two foreign nationals.
|
||||
|
||||
The case was officially registered following a swift emergency rescue operation. According to the FIR, the two victims, one from the Netherlands and the other from Venezuela, were invited to Pakistan by Raza Dar, who had previously entered into a business partnership with them in Singapore in October 2025.
|
||||
|
||||
The victims arrived in Lahore on June 29, 2026, after Dar arranged their travel visas. The complainants stated that upon their arrival, they were forcibly taken to a residential location in Y-Block, Defence, where they were held at gunpoint.
|
||||
|
||||
The suspects aggressively assaulted the women, subjected them to severe physical abuse involving weapons, and demanded a hefty ransom of $1.5 million.
|
||||
|
||||
The perpetrators allegedly threatened to take their lives and sell their body parts if the demands were not met. The ordeal ended after one of the victims managed to contact her father in the Netherlands, who immediately alerted the Lahore Police via the 15 emergency helpline, leading to a rescue operation within two hours.
|
||||
|
||||
Following the high-profile arrests, a senior police source confirmed that the investigation is being conducted with complete transparency and entirely on merit.
|
||||
|
||||
“There is absolutely zero political interference in this case,” a Lahore police official stated. “Clear directives were issued by the Chief Minister of Punjab to ensure that the police act solely in accordance with the law and do not come under any pressure from political high-ups. Furthermore, much to the credit of the deputy prime minister, he did not interfere in the matter at all.”

The official highlighted that the police action was exceptionally prompt, resulting in the successful recovery of the victims and the immediate arrest of Raza Dar and his co-accused.
|
||||
|
||||
"The police fully facilitated both victims in recording their legal statements before the magistrate. Although their return flights were already booked, the police requested them to extend their stay for another day to properly facilitate the ongoing investigation. The expenses for this extension were fully paid out of the police budget to ensure the victims faced no further inconvenience," the source added.

LAHORE: Police in Lahore have registered a case against five suspects, including Muhammad Raza Dar, over the alleged abduction, extortion and sexual assault of two foreign women in the city’s Defence area.
|
||||
|
||||
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the victims one from the Netherlands and the other from Venezuela—travelled to Pakistan after being invited by Muhammad Raza Dar, with whom they had reportedly entered into a business partnership in Singapore in October 2025.
|
||||
|
||||
The FIR states that the women arrived in Lahore on June 29, 2026, after their visas were arranged by the suspect. Upon arrival, they were allegedly taken to a house in the Y-Block area of Defence, where they were held against their will at gunpoint.
|
||||
|
||||
Police said the suspects allegedly subjected the victims to physical violence, threatened them with weapons, and demanded a ransom of $1.5 million. The FIR further alleges that the women were threatened with death and other acts of violence if the ransom was not paid.
|
||||
|
||||
The incident came to light after one of the victims contacted her father in the Netherlands, who immediately informed Lahore Police through the emergency helpline. Acting on the complaint, police launched a rescue operation, recovered both women within hours, and arrested the main suspect along with his alleged accomplices.

||||
|
||||
A senior police official said the investigation is being conducted strictly in accordance with the law, stressing that there has been no political influence in the case. The official added that authorities acted swiftly to rescue the victims and complete the initial legal proceedings.

||||
|
||||
Police also facilitated the victims in recording their statements before a magistrate. Although the women had already booked return flights, investigators requested them to remain in Pakistan for an additional day to assist with the inquiry, with the related expenses covered by the police to support the ongoing investigation.

||||
LAHORE – The investigation into the alleged kidnapping and assault of foreign women in Lahore has taken a new turn, with police sources linking the case to a major cryptocurrency-related financial dispute.
|
||||
|
||||
Preliminary findings suggest that the matter stems from a monetary disagreement between foreign women and the main accused, Raza Dar.
|
||||
|
||||
Investigators believe the dispute involves a payment of $1.5 million, which is approximately Rs450 million.
|
||||
|
||||
Police said further claim that the accused allegedly lured the foreign women to Pakistan under a pretext linked to the recovery of the disputed amount.
|
||||
|
||||
It is also alleged that a staged kidnapping scenario was created to mislead authorities, during which the main suspect reportedly portrayed himself as one of the victims.
|
||||
|
||||
Officials stated that further investigation is underway to uncover all aspects of the case.
|
||||
|
||||
The alleged incident reportedly took place on June 29, while authorities were informed on July 2. Following the report, law enforcement agencies conducted an operation and recovered the women, who are said to be from the Netherlands and Spain.
|
||||
|
||||
An FIR has been registered at Defence C Police Station in Lahore. Earlier on Friday, suspects were produced before a local court, which granted a five-day physical remand for further investigation.

Lahore DIG Operations Faisal Kamran said the women had initially travelled to Pakistan voluntarily after meeting the main suspect in Singapore, where discussions had reportedly taken place over cryptocurrency investment.
|
||||
|
||||
According to the FIR, the man had invited both women to Pakistan and also arranged their visas. The complaint alleges that on June 29, the women were abducted by the suspect, his boss, and three other men.
|
||||
|
||||
The complainant said the suspects behaved aggressively and that the man who had invited them to Pakistan pretended to be a victim as well. She further alleged that ransom was demanded in exchange for their release, that her companion was raped multiple times, and that an attempt was also made to rape her.
|
||||
|
||||
Police said the women were traced with the help of photographs and vehicle details shared with family members. Investigators used the vehicle’s registration data and CCTV footage to track its movement through Shahdara, Sargodha, Islamabad, and eventually back to Lahore’s Defense area, where a raid was conducted and the women were recovered.
|
||||
|
||||
DIG Faisal Kamran said the women had also informed their families about their movements and had been sharing pictures during their stay in Pakistan. He said initial police questioning indicated that rape had also taken place, while medical examinations of the victims had been carried out and reports were awaited.
|
||||
|
||||
Police said the case appeared to have started with a business dispute linked to cryptocurrency investment. According to Faisal Kamran, the women and the main suspect had agreed outside Pakistan to invest dollars in crypto and later share the profits.
|
||||
|
||||
He claimed that after the suspects returned to Pakistan, the women allegedly did not pay the agreed profit amount and stopped responding to calls and messages. The officer said the women later came to Pakistan for further talks related to investment and were due to leave on July 3.

Police said both sides had travelled together to different cities, including Lahore, Islamabad, and Murree, before returning to Lahore. According to investigators, once they got back to the city, one suspect allegedly decided he would not let the women leave Pakistan without recovering the money he claimed was owed.

Police allege the suspect then rented a house with the help of an associate, brought in two men, and had the women abducted before contacting the family to demand ransom.
|
||||
|
||||
Faisal Kamran said that regardless of any financial dispute, no one had the right to kidnap another person to recover money.
|
||||
|
||||
Police said the embassies of the two women had been contacted, and arrangements were being made to send them back to their countries.
|
||||
