StellarCrowandClaude Fable 5.1 439e83a4cb feat(sources): Wayback pass, automatic trimming, detention rule, ten cases re-sourced
Second and third rounds on the dossier pipeline, reviewed locally before commit.

Retrieval
- wayback_pass.py: retries every BLOCKED/DEAD/THIN/ERROR linked source through
the Wayback Machine; blocks carry the snapshot date, archive URL and the live
verdict. 143 slots retried: 93 fetched, 37 no snapshot, 12 script shells, 1 PDF.
- fetch_sources.py: fetch_wayback() helper.
- add_extra_sources.py: files staged extra_* finds (web search, not on the DB
record) into the store with a provenance note.
- Cases re-sourced by web search: 248 (Oslo: Document.no, Avisa Oslo, NRK; the
linked Le Parisien piece is case 242 and is marked OFF-CASE), 258 Kharkiv,
  260 Singapore, 358 Bangkok, 365 Las Vegas, 388 Verneuil-sur-Seine, 390 Zoersel,
  430 Homestead. 341 of 364 cases now hold a fetched article; 11, 66 and 399
have no public text source (podcast, police video, direct victim report).

Trimming
- auto_trim.py: case-anchored furniture cut for UNTRIMMED blocks. Finds the body
run that mentions the case, merges across subheadings and short furniture
gaps, drops teasers, share bars, date/URL/caption lines and subscription
pitches; refuses pages with no record term or almost no body. 302 blocks
trimmed; 16 left on auto-trim-review.md (7 OFF-CASE suspects). Every cut is
labelled AUTO-TRIMMED, UNREVIEWED in the dossier; the full extract stays in
staging/. Decisions with anchors in trim-decisions-auto.json.
- build_cases.py / verify_all.py: banners for auto-trimmed and archived blocks,
staged-file check extended to Wayback blocks, flag legend under the record.

Detention rule
- README "Definitions": the DB field `kidnappings` is the DETENTION violence
type (victim, guard, staff or relative held to force submission or execute
the theft), distinct from the Kidnapping scenario (taken away and held).
- detention-flag-review.md / detention-flag-corrections.json: 40 records
reviewed with evidence; 30 set-to-1 proposals accepted by the owner on
  2026-09-06 (listed in corrections-approved.md), 10 still open.
- apply_detention_wording.py: "Violence Used" in the 70 reviewed summaries now
names detention explicitly (62 of 70 labelled), supported by the summary's
own text; idempotent; supersedes the batch scripts' wording.

Worklist and docs
- sofia-worklist.md: 248 decisions, detention rule item replacing the old
"no abduction" item, fresh-search section for the textless cases.
- README-START-HERE.md: progress notes, run commands, next steps.
- Bug fixed in passing: Wayback blocks stored in-memory text with carriage
returns; now stored as read back from disk.

verify_all.py PASSES (2321 checks).

The home where a woman only identified as A.T., due to a court order protecting her identity, was held and tortured by a group of men demanding $1 million in Bitcoin.
A conviction and sentencing in a GTA kidnapping, torture and sex-assault case have exposed the shocking details of a 2022 crime.
The story involves a womans tormentors bundling her into an SUV in Vaughan, tying her to a chair, stripping her naked and hitting her legs with a hammer at a home in Barrie.

The woman, A.T. (whos name is protected by a publication ban), was also subjected to men burning her hair and dragging a needle, which they said was filled with heroin, up and down her body under the threat of injection, should she not pay them $1 million in bitcoin.
The syringe, later found by York Region Police, who staged a “massive” investigation to find the woman, was filled with fentanyl, the court heard.
Its still unclear who organized or paid for the men to commit these crimes.
The first details of the crime were made public when a youth, only known as S.M. due to his age and a court-imposed publication ban, was convicted in 2024 in the attack on A.T.
He was found guilty of kidnapping, forcible confinement and failure to comply with bail and is awaiting sentencing, which is set to occur in Oshawa on Oct. 3.
Then, on Aug. 22, Keyron Moore, 39, was sentenced in Newmarket to 13 years for using a firearm to kidnap A.T.
It all began on Nov. 1, 2022 when A.T. met a friend at 100 Steeles Ave., in Thornhill, to discuss cryptocurrency credit cards, which shed become involved in.
After the 30-minute meeting was over and she was walking back to her Porsche Macan, a vehicle being driven by Moore pulled up and a man got out and grabbed A.T.
A member of the public, who ran to assist, was shot at three times, but not struck.
“Look at what you made me do,” A.T. was told by her kidnapper, identified in court as Orange Hoodie Guy (OHG).
OHG has yet to be identified by police.
During the following hours, Moore, who was also armed, was left alone with A.T. multiple times, including when OHG went to get gas and a phone charger.
On one of these occasions, the court heard, Moore threatened to shoot A.T. if she didnt perform fellatio on him.
After multiple calls and messages, one that involved Moore allegedly getting about $20,000 to deliver A.T. to a home north of the GTA, the men agreed to take A.T. to a home in Barrie.
Once at the home, resided in by a local drug user who was given fentanyl in return for the use of his home, A.T. was dragged into the garage, where several young men, including S.M., appeared and began threatening her.
After being tied to the chair, the men started “bashing” her feet, hands, thighs and knees.
“They kept asking for crypto, in particular $1 million,” the court documents say. “They told A.T. that the syringe was full of heroin, and they could kill her with one injection. They were running the syringe along her body and up and down her arms and legs.”
She was then stripped naked, the court heard in the Moore case, before the men shoved a sock in her mouth. At times, she was burned on her hands with a lighter.
“They kept telling me to call people, but they would not give me my own phone,” she told the court. “They kept torturing me. There was like a wrench … he threatened to hit the back of my skull with it … the tall guy took the screwdriver … he dug it in enough where I could feel it. He said if you dont give us what we want, well keep hurting you.”
A.T. would eventually escape from the garages back door and run to a neighbouring home, while the men were not looking, and had the homeowner call 911, court records show.
In a victim impact statement, she told the court how she no longer goes outside.
“The fear is too overwhelming,” court documents state. “I feel like I have a target on my back, like someone is always watching, waiting for the right moment. My heart races at the thought of being approached, followed or taken.”
Moore was given pre-sentence credit of three years and will serve 10 years behind bars for the kidnapping. He has a noncommunication order with A.T. and S.M.
