The robbery took place around 5:20 PM. It is seen that Everts stands up and says to one of the robbers, "I don't have any Bitcoin at all." "I'm in the broadcast and someone is walking here with a...", he says afterward. The screen then goes black.
Gun
After a few minutes, Everts returns. "I was just talking to you, three young men came in, they removed all the cameras, they held a gun to my head and said, 'Bitcoin, Bitcoin'. And they were let in because they pretended to have a package."
Everts reports that they also threatened his children. "At one point, I got so angry that I said, shoot if you want to, and at one point, I was clearly not planning to cooperate.... then they ran away. We called 112 and the police are coming now."
Descriptions
The police have already spread the descriptions of the perpetrators via Burgernet. They are men aged 17 to 19, one of whom was wearing a DHL jacket. The three had face masks on. Anyone who sees them is asked to call 112.
Several police cars are now at the residence. Everts calls the robbery in the live stream too bizarre for words. "It's really frightening. I've heard before that robberies are committed because of Bitcoins, but it's really nonsense, as if you want to rob a bank account."
In the past year, more well-known Dutch people in the city have been robbed. Mayor Halsema called this concerning at the beginning of December during a meeting. She further stated that there is often a relationship with "displaying luxury goods on social media" and advised to be mindful of this. "Because people with ill intentions might find a motive in that."
A police spokesperson reports that the perpetrators of the robbery are no longer found in the area and that further investigation is ongoing. A report is also being filed.
