A flash kidnapping targeting a million-dollar sum in cryptocurrencies ended in a police chase in Goiânia. Two of the four suspects were killed in combat at the scene, but one managed to escape without being identified.
The fourth piece of the scheme, considered the mastermind of the crime, was arrested as soon as he arrived in the USA, thwarting his escape plans.
The planning of the crime began as early as February of this year.
On that date, the victim was approached by Josemar Alencar Linhares de Oliveira, who introduced himself as an advisor to the then-president of the Legislative Assembly of Goiás (Alego).
Later, in June, the suspect arranged a business meeting with the victim in Goiânia. Documents seen by Livecoins show that Josemar's insistence was so great that he even offered to cover the victim's stay in the area.

In his defense, Josemar claims that he “had no involvement in the crime” and only acted as an intermediary between “Danilo” and the victim. Regardless, the court convicted Josemar as the intellectual author of the extortion crime last Wednesday (24). Although the initial sentence was 8 years, Josemar was sentenced to 12 years and 9 months in prison in a closed regime due to the involvement of four agents and the use of two firearms in the criminal action.
