Until now only cases 357+ (plus a few older ones) had their linked URLs fetched; the other 252 dossiers held just the text pasted into the spreadsheet, often only the lede. This pass fetches every linked URL for those cases so the full text is on file before link rot takes it. - stage_all.py: new --include-sheet-cases flag that lifts the skip on cases holding spreadsheet articles. Resumable as before. - staging/: raw extracts and index.json for the 252 cases. - sourced-articles.json, case-files-manifest.json: 188 new UNTRIMMED blocks. 179 cases gained at least one fetched article; 73 got none (49 BLOCKED, 18 THIN, 9 DEAD, 4 video/social, 3 ERROR). - sources/*.txt: rebuilt with build_cases.py --all. Sheet pastes are kept; fetched blocks sit beside them under the NOT YET TRIMMED banner. Files previously committed with CRLF are now LF. - wayback-availability.json: Wayback snapshots exist for 73 of the 98 failed URL slots; input for an archive-fetch pass. - README-START-HERE.md: progress note and next step. verify_all.py PASSES (1836 checks). Dozens of heavily armed police and tactical officers stormed the property on Canterbury Road in Belmore on Tuesday evening.

The victim has been named by some media outlets as 26-year-old Peter Vuong.

The man, alleged to have been held against his will, was believed to have been the relative of a person suspected of being involved in a drug deal gone wrong, according to reports.

Tran Dinh was believed to have been the intended target of the brutal alleged attack on Peter Vuong last month, who was held at a home in Sydney’s west for several days where his teeth were pulled out with a hammer and pliers and a gun shoved down his throat, according to police.
The 29-year-old was reportedly filmed begging for help in footage later sent to Mr Dinh during a $5 million ransom demand.
Police sources told The Daily Telegraph Mr Dinh had been worried about another attempt to target him and had left shortly after Mr Vuong was rescued in a dramatic police operation in Belmore.

“(Mr Dinh) got out of town just a few days later and headed overseas, and who can blame him,” a police source told the newspaper.
It comes after police this week arrested a 21-year-old state government employee at a Bunnings car park in connection with the incident.
Sira Elkheir is alleged to have used her role at Service NSW to access personal information which was shared with others for the purpose of criminal activity.
Ms Elkheir, from Yagoona in Sydney’s west, allegedly used her work computer on February 20 to look up address and licence details of Mr Dinh, his wife and Mr Vuong’s father, which police allege were then provided to the kidnappers.
