Until now only cases 357+ (plus a few older ones) had their linked URLs fetched; the other 252 dossiers held just the text pasted into the spreadsheet, often only the lede. This pass fetches every linked URL for those cases so the full text is on file before link rot takes it. - stage_all.py: new --include-sheet-cases flag that lifts the skip on cases holding spreadsheet articles. Resumable as before. - staging/: raw extracts and index.json for the 252 cases. - sourced-articles.json, case-files-manifest.json: 188 new UNTRIMMED blocks. 179 cases gained at least one fetched article; 73 got none (49 BLOCKED, 18 THIN, 9 DEAD, 4 video/social, 3 ERROR). - sources/*.txt: rebuilt with build_cases.py --all. Sheet pastes are kept; fetched blocks sit beside them under the NOT YET TRIMMED banner. Files previously committed with CRLF are now LF. - wayback-availability.json: Wayback snapshots exist for 73 of the 98 failed URL slots; input for an archive-fetch pass. - README-START-HERE.md: progress note and next step. verify_all.py PASSES (1836 checks). |
||

Armed robbers broke into a couple’s home and forced them at gunpoint to transfer bitcoins worth millions, according to Aftonbladet’s information. Police became suspicious of two men running from the houses and managed to arrest the gang.

“They had a pistol and a knife when they broke in,” said Commissioner Per Åkermark.
|
||
|
||
One of the police patrol cars passed through a residential area in the northern parts of Stockholm County last Thursday evening when they saw two people running away from some houses.
|
||
|
||
“They became suspicious and caught up with the two. It turned out they, together with a third person, had broken into a home of a married couple, armed with a pistol and a knife,” said Per Åkermark, commissioner and operational coordinator of the police in southern Roslagen.
|
||
|
||
“It is a serious robbery, and as is almost always the case, they were after money, jewelry, watches, or other valuables. They were inside the residence for 20–30 minutes.”
|
||
|
||
Several sources told Aftonbladet that after luring their way into the home, two men and one woman forced the couple to transfer bitcoin worth millions. They acted threateningly with their weapons and then fled the residence, with one of the victims chasing after them until the police arrived.
|

Per Åkermark wouldn’t comment on the exact loot due to ongoing investigations but confirmed that the suspects tricked the victims into opening the door.
|
||
|
||
“They knock and deceive the victims into letting them in. I can’t comment on the loot for investigative reasons. We are now trying to identify the motive and clarify what the perpetrators knew before committing the crime.”

||
When asked if the stolen assets were recovered, he said, “We are working on that now by reviewing IT equipment.”
|
||
|
||
Two of the three suspects are now in custody with restrictions, while the third, a woman, has been released. Both men in custody are in their twenties.

Asked if all three are still suspects, he said the woman was released but the investigation continues. “There could be more suspects, individuals who planned or organized this beyond those who carried it out.”
|
||
|
||
When asked how common it is for criminals to forcibly enter homes this way, Åkermark said, “It’s not uncommon. The average person needn’t be alarmed, but these incidents happen regularly.”
|
||
|
||
Asked whether perpetrators target specific victims or act randomly, he said, “We had a similar case a few years ago in Djursholm involving stolen keys and luxury cars. Sometimes criminals know there are valuables, sometimes they settle debts with other criminals, or they know victims have posted expensive items on sales websites.”

||
Lotta Mauritzon, crime prevention officer at the National Fraud Centre within Sweden’s National Operations Department (Noa), said bitcoin-related crimes are becoming more common and it is difficult to access others’ virtual currencies.
|
||
|
||
“You need login credentials to access a virtual wallet where bitcoins and other currencies are stored. If someone else wants to get access, they will do whatever it takes, I think.”

||
|
||
She is not aware of the current case but said it seems likely that the perpetrators knew in advance that the victims owned bitcoin.
